Fit matters as much as the label
A jacket chosen for the ship’s abandonment equipment may be different from one worn by crew at work. An immersion suit also needs to fit the wearer and work with the required lifejacket. Start with who will wear the equipment, how it will be used and the approval the vessel needs.
If you are replacing a model already aboard, include its name and size. If you are equipping several people, separate adult and child requirements and list the suit sizes. That gives the team a useful starting point for the proposed equipment.
Choose the equipment for the wearer
Lifejackets
Foam and inflatable designs have different construction and servicing needs. Specify whether the jacket is for abandonment equipment or regular wear by working crew.
Include wearer sizes, the existing model and any specified light, harness or approval requirements.
Immersion suits
Suit material, insulation and size affect the specification. VIKING’s range includes neoprene and PU-coated nylon designs; the model’s instructions determine whether a separate lifejacket is needed.
For example, VIKING YouSafe Wave must be worn with an approved lifejacket. Do not assume every immersion suit provides its own required buoyancy.
A vessel outfit
For several crew or passengers, list the quantities and sizes by item rather than requesting one mixed total.
Share the vessel’s required specification and delivery date so jackets and suits can be quoted together.
Send these details for your quote
The quote form lets you list sizes and choose lifejackets, suits or both. Add any required accessories or model details in the message.
- Lifejackets, immersion suits or both, with quantities for each
- Adult and child requirements; suit sizes where known
- Existing make and model, if replacing equipment
- Vessel use and required approvals or survey specification
- Delivery destination and date needed aboard

Does an immersion suit replace a lifejacket?
Not necessarily. Some suits require a separate approved lifejacket; others have a different approved buoyancy arrangement. Check the exact suit’s instructions. VIKING YouSafe Wave, for example, requires an approved lifejacket.
Can I request adult and child equipment together?
Yes. List the quantity for each wearer group and any suit sizes you know. A single total does not tell the team which sizes to quote.
Are all lifejackets and suits SOLAS approved?
No blanket approval applies to a whole equipment category. Tell us the approval your vessel requires; the proposed model and its documented approval need to match that specification.
What if the equipment aboard needs servicing?
Open our lifejacket and immersion-suit servicing page for the inspection scope and service-request route. A request for new equipment goes through the product quote instead.
