A raft that fits the vessel
A replacement liferaft has to fit more than the number of people aboard. Its container must suit the stowage space, its launch arrangement must suit the vessel, and its emergency pack must match the required specification. Getting those details into the enquiry helps avoid a quote for the wrong configuration.
The VIKING throw-overboard range includes SOLAS A and B pack options. For an existing installation, send the model on the container label, the required capacity and any rack or launch-height details. For a new installation, include the vessel’s flag, use and operating area.
Start with the launch arrangement
Throw-overboard
A container-stowed raft launched into the water before boarding. VIKING’s standard range includes capacities from 4 to 35 persons.
Specify capacity, emergency pack, container type and launch height. The exact model and approval belong in the quote.
Davit-launched
A raft used with the vessel’s davit and embarkation arrangement. The raft and lifting installation need to be specified together.
Send the davit details, required capacity and existing raft model if you are replacing one.
VIKING S30
An extended-service-interval range with full servicing at 30 months and annual inspections aboard by crew certified for the S30 procedure.
Compare S30 separately if fewer removals for full servicing would suit the vessel’s schedule. Its servicing arrangements still need to be planned.

What is the difference between SOLAS A and B packs?
They are different emergency-equipment packs, not different raft capacities. The required pack depends on the vessel’s applicable requirements. Give us the specified pack or the existing raft details; do not choose solely by container size.
Will a new raft fit the existing rack?
Capacity alone does not establish a fit. Include the current container model and rack details so the proposed container can be checked against the installation before ordering.
Does every VIKING raft have a 30-month service interval?
No. The 30-month full-service interval described here belongs to the S30 range. Use the manufacturer’s requirements for the particular raft, including its inspections and approved servicing arrangements.
Do I need a new raft or a service request?
Use the product quote for new equipment. If your existing raft is due for inspection or recertification, open our life-saving equipment service page. Liferaft rental is a separate service if you need temporary cover.
