The cylinder has to match the set
Cylinder volume and working pressure are only the starting point. The valve connection, material and approved equipment combination also matter. A cylinder of the same nominal size is not automatically a suitable replacement for the one aboard.
Tell us whether you need a cylinder alone, a complete self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), or an emergency escape device. These are different orders. Include the make and model of the existing set so the requested components are clear.
Cylinder, breathing set or escape device
Breathing-air cylinders
Specify water capacity and working pressure together, such as 6.8 litres and 300 bar. Those figures do not by themselves establish compatibility or breathing duration.
Include the cylinder part number, valve connection and existing set model. Dräger offers different steel and composite cylinder configurations.
Complete SCBA sets
A complete breathing set is more than a cylinder. The backplate or harness, mask and lung demand valve need to be part of the requested specification.
Dräger PSS 3000 is one example of a self-contained breathing apparatus. List the components required rather than assuming every cylinder quote includes a full set.
Emergency escape apparatus
An escape device is intended for leaving a hazardous environment. Dräger Saver CF, for example, is a hood-based constant-flow escape device.
Specify the escape-device model and required configuration. It serves a different purpose from working or firefighting SCBA equipment.
Send these details for your quote
The quote form asks for cylinder size, pressure and whether you need a set or cylinder. For an escape device or a particular component, name it in the message with the existing equipment model.
- Cylinder only, complete breathing set or escape apparatus, with quantity
- Cylinder volume, working pressure and material
- Make, model, part number and valve/connection details

Will any 6.8-litre cylinder fit my breathing set?
No. Capacity does not establish the correct working pressure, connection or approved combination. Send the existing set model, cylinder part number and valve details.
Does cylinder capacity tell me how long I can use it?
Not by itself. The litre figure describes cylinder water capacity, not a guaranteed duration of use. Use the manufacturer’s specification for the complete apparatus and its intended application.
Is escape apparatus the same as SCBA?
No. An emergency escape device is designed for escape, while a working SCBA has a different purpose and equipment specification. State which equipment your vessel requires in the enquiry.
What if I need testing or refill support instead of a new cylinder?
Open our cylinder-service page and send the cylinder identification and requested work. The station reviews service scope separately. This product quote is for new equipment and does not establish acceptance for refilling or testing.
